CNBC Ranks Florida's Workforce No. 1 in the U.S.
Florida was again named No. 1 in the nation for Workforce in CNBC’s 2010 America’s Top States for Business rankings, marking the second time in three years the Sunshine State has taken the top spot in the workforce category.
The rankings are a study of all 50 states that examines 10 different categories, including workforce, to measure each stat’s ability to attract businesses. To read Governor Charlie Crist’s announcement, please click here.
Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Federal Income Tax Refund
Working families and individuals who are employed and have a low or moderate income may be eligible to receive an EITC-based return. In addition to helping qualified residents, the EITC has the potential to introduce millions of dollars to Florida’s economy at no cost to the State. On January 1, 2010, the minimum wage for Florida will remain unchanged at the federal rate of $7.25 per hour. The new federal minimum wage went into effect July 24, 2009.
