Money for Training
We can help you get the skills you need to get a good job or start a new career. If you are interested in career training, you may be eligible for an Individual Training Account, referred to as an ITA. The Broward WorkForce Development Board approves all training courses and providers. Only courses that train you for a job in a high-demand occupation in Broward County are approved. If you are eligible for tuition assistance for training: The life time maximum amount per individual paid out by WorkForce One for tuition and other costs associated with the training is $8,200.
Any tuition/other costs greater than $8,200 will be the responsibility of the individual. WorkForce One counselors and participating schools may be able to assist you in finding grants, loans and/or scholarships to help you pay for training costs. All customers must apply for a Pell Grant for schools that are PELL eligible. Attending an Orientation session is the first step to enrolling. At this session you will learn about available training programs and eligibility requirements. Please contact a career counselor at your local WorkForce One Center to see if you qualify for this training.
A copy of all approved adult training and training providers may be viewed here: Customer ITA List as of 14 June 2013. The most recent report on the performance of providers can be found here: ITA Provider Performance Report for January 2013. The WorkForce One Employment Solutions ITA provider link list is available here ITA Providers Weblinks. Are you WIA eligible? Click to find out: WIA Application.
Note: WIA is not an entitlement program, and selection for participation in the program is a local decision that is based on eligibility, assessment of your needs, interests, abilities, motivation and your prospects for successfully completing the program. For additional information, speak to a WorkForce One Success Coach to determine your eligibility.
