Question: I am a dislocated worker due to the downsizing of my company. Your staff member came to our offices to talk about your services. I would like to take one of your Interviewing Classes and also touch up on my Excel and PowerPoint. What do I need to do? Do I need to make an appointment? Do I need to come by your Resource Center? I may also need to attend school. I have not taken my computer classes since 1997.
Answer: Every WorkForce One Resource Center offers classes on Mock Interviewing Skills. You will need to call or visit the Center to make a reservation because seating is limited. The Resource Center also offers classes in Word and Excel but not PowerPoint. However the Broward County Library System has extensive computer classes in all subjects from beginning to advanced levels. What is even better is there is no cost to you. All you would need to do is register to secure a seat. Just visit your local library for the schedule in their monthly magazine called Bookings or visit them at www.browardlibrary.org for further details. As far as going back to school to further your employable skills you would need to talk to a WIA Counselor. You can call them directly or attend a Center Orientation where they
