Question: Can an individual who was already receiving unemployment benefits receive an extension on those benefits in light of the recent disaster (hurricane wilma)?
Answer: There currently is not an extension available to unemployment benefits. The DUA benefits are set up for people who lost their job because of the hurricane. If you have a current claim please call 954-625-3000 or 1-800-204-2418, by using the selected options you can find out the status of your claim or speak directly to a claims representative. You may also access your claim information through the internet: www.fluidnow.com . If you do not have a current claim and were separated from work due to Wilma, please file for your unemployment benefits using either option.
